Presbyterian Women Fund Raiser

It’s time for the PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN’S biggest fund raiser of the year.
We participate in Younker’s Community Days by selling coupon books for a $5 donation each.
The first coupon in the book is $10 off your first purchase plus many other valuable coupons and merchandise offers at a very good price only by using the specific coupon.

This is a good chance to do some Christmas shopping! The coupons can be used during the Community Days Sale which takes place November 8, 9, 10, and 11. Last year PW made over $2,000, all of which went to our missions, local and worldwide, at the end of the year.

Please support our Presbyterian Women by purchasing one or more books.

For questions contact Judie Ford, 426-5220.

Boots and Shoes
The PW women bought and delivered four pair of shoes to children at the school. The price for these shoes came to $131.16. The fits were right and the children were happy, but it did take a bite out of the shoe and boot fund. With cold and snowy weather on the way, the women will surely be getting requests for boots.

So, if you haven’t put a donation in the “Little Brown Boot”, please give it some thought. We all wish for every school child to have warm and dry feet this winter.

Fall Gathering
The Annual Fall Gathering for the Presbyterian Women of Lake Huron is being held on Saturday, October 14th at Lapeer First Presbyterian Church.

Registration begins at 10:00 with a fee of $10:00 per person which covers the program and a delicious luncheon.

This year’s theme is “Out of Darkness into the Light” John 5:1 and the Guest Speaker is Pat McBride, PW Synod of the Covenant Moderator. The program is followed worship and communion and the offering will help support Cathy Chang’s Ministry.

Our Boots and Shoes program with the Beaverton Schools has slowed due to the many changes to the school and there being no coordinator available. One of the teachers is working on this problem so we hope to be able to continue. For your information we started this program in October 1999. Since that time we have provided 97 pairs of shoes, 197 pairs of boots, plus a pair of socks for each. We know this is a needed program and hope it can continue.
